April – May 2026 Exhibits<\/h2>\n

This April, Art Works celebrates creativity, renewal, and community with a diverse lineup of exhibits. Senior students from the Henrico Center for the Arts showcase four years of study in the Jane Sandelin Gallery, while Second Nature<\/em> by Marissa Boyce transforms reclaimed materials into sculptural works of resilience. Art in Bloom<\/em>, presented in partnership with the Historic Richmond Foundation during Virginia\u2019s Historic Garden Week, invites artists to interpret the beauty of nature and new growth. The juried All Media Show highlights local and regional talent across all styles and mediums, and the Community Bridge Project continues to support emerging artists from Central Virginia through mentorship and exhibition opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Henrico Center for the Arts<\/h4>\n<\/div>

Senior students of the Henrico Center for the Arts program exhibit their artwork which represents four years of study. The exhibit features a myriad of art forms and immerging perspectives. This exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery at Art Works. The exhibit opens on April 24, 2026, and continues through \u2013 May 2, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Second Nature<\/em> by Marissa Boyce<\/h4>\n<\/div>

Marissa Boyce is a multidisciplinary artist. She transforms recycled and reclaimed materials into textured wall pieces and small sculptures. Beginning with objects that have been discarded, damaged, or weathered by time, she reimagines waste as wonder, uncovering resilience and beauty in the overlooked. Second Nature<\/em> highlights the quiet strength of damaged things, giving new life to what might otherwise be forgotten.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The exhibit will be in the Corner Gallery at Art Works through May 16, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Art in Bloom<\/h4>\n<\/div>

Art Works invites artists to submit pieces for a special exhibition celebrating the beauty of nature and gardens. Presented in partnership with the Historic Richmond Foundation and held during Virginia Historic Garden Week, Art in Bloom brings the season\u2019s blossoms indoors through a wide variety of artistic media.<\/p>\n

The juried exhibition opens April 17, 2026, in the Center Gallery at Art Works and will be on view through May 16, 2026, offering visitors a month-long opportunity to experience how artists across Virginia interpret and engage with the natural world.<\/p>\n

April 2026 All Media Show<\/h4>\n<\/div>

This exhibit is a focal point of all Art Works\u2019 openings. There is no theme for this exhibit. It is a juried show with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The show is open to all artists and all mediums. Call for entries is March 15 \u2013 April 12, 2026, and may be submitted through the online form.

The Community Bridge Project<\/h4>\n<\/div>

RVA Thriving Artists is excited to welcome a new artist to the Community Bridge Project. Emerging artists from Central Virginia\u2014including those from underserved and marginalized communities, are encouraged to submit their proposals through the online application form. Selected artists will receive free exhibit space in the upstairs Bridge Project gallery at Art Works, along with mentorship and educational support. The program provides guidance on developing a theme, creating a cohesive body of work, preparing for exhibition, and promoting the show.<\/p>\n

This exhibit is sponsored by RVA Thriving Artists, a nonprofit arm of Art Works offering opportunities for emerging artists including marginalized and under represented communities. Learn more at: RVA Thriving Artists website.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
